Caption “What does it feel when a 25-ton bus overtakes you on a bicycle?”
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
As a training excercise they had public transport drivers (more specifically, BRT drivers) simulate being overtaken by one of the buses they drive themselves. They were also forced to use a bicycle near routes they work as to put themselves in the shoes of cyclists. It’s kind of a moot point though, because BRTs drive on protected lanes that cyclists
are supposed to not get into
. But you know, whatevs.
I don’t know if it’s humiliating, hilarious, pointless, or all of the above. Some of them aren’t even pedaling the right way.
I guess it's pretty funny that the BRT's director posted a video basically torturing their drivers.

They seem somewhat blasé to me, but then again, I don’t speak spanish.
I used to ride this road every day:
On rare occasions, an 18-wheeler would zoom by. They usually didn’t move over much because the hills ma de it hard to see what was coming. The speed limit was 55 mph and they were usually doing at least that spe ed.

“I...i really felt the power... the wind of the bus, the power it was terryfing”
But what you describe certainly sounds worse

Not necessarily worse. With buses, there’s always conflict between the bus stops and the bike lanes. I’ve played leap-frog with a bus before. I’d pass while it was stopped at a bus stop. It would pass me on the road, then stop again at the next bus stop. That was annoying because I kept having to move left into traffic to get around the bus again.
It’s another reason I’m not fond of bike lanes.
